Craft Workshops - One to One Support
If you don't want to come to one of our group workshops, or there is a particular area that you would like to focus on, we offer a range of different one-to-one support sessions.
You will get individual support and practical experience, with completed work to take home. The sessions are delivered by Natalie, who has been papercrafting for over 20 years, and running successful craft workshops for 13 years, both at Hadrian's Hobbies and with local groups. They are relaxed and informal, working at your own pace and spending time on areas that you don't feel confident with. All materials are provided. The sessions are designed for adults.
Sessions can be arranged to suit you, either day time or evening. Contact us to book a session or discuss further.
Using a die-cutting/embossing machine, 1.5 hours, £20 (free if you have purchased a die-cutting machine from us!)
Are you interested in learning about die-cutting and embossing using one of the many machines available on the market, or have purchased one but not sure how to get the most out of it? This session shows you how to cut and emboss with the many different types of metal dies and embossing folders. Machines we have available are the Gemini II, Gemini Junior and Spellbinders Platinum. If you have a different machine, bring it along with the instruction book and we can work on that!
Stamping with clear and rubber stamps, 1 hour, £15
Learn how to create beautiful stamped images with both clear and rubber stamps, using acrylic blocks or a stamping platform. This session also goes through the different types of inks to stamp with for the best results depending on the effect that you want to achieve, and adding colour to the stamped image.
Stencilling, 1 hour, £15
Stencilling is a lovely technique and this session goes through the different types of stencils available (from simple, to 'ink & twist', to layered stencils) for really effective results! It also includes a look at the different media that can be used with stencils such as inks and pastes.
Heat embossing, 1 hour, £15
This is a mesmerising technique which involves stamping an image with a clear, sticky ink, covering with embossing powder, which is then melted with a heat gun for a shiny, metallic effect. You can also heat emboss solid shapes such as MDF and greyboard. There is a wide range of embossing powders available from metallic, to marbled, to ultra thick, to clear - this session will cover them all!
Using gilding flakes, 1 hour, £15
Gilding flakes are light, metallic flakes that come in a range of different colours. This session demonstrates how you can use them on card to create backgrounds or to cover MDF/greyboard shapes, and how you can stamp with a special glue to create gilded images.
Crafty Concoctions - making your own texture pastes, 1 hour, £15
In this session we use products from the Creative Expressions 'Crafty Concoctions' range which includes fabulous texture pastes, inks and glitters, which can be combined to create your own unique pastes. Use through stencils, or to make backgounds.
Iris folding, 1 hour, £10
Iris folding is a stunning paper-folding technique, which is really simple but very effective. We create our own iris folding kits at Hadrian's Hobbies and there is a wide variety of images to choose from in this session.
Marbling with shaving foam, 1 hour, £15
This is a really fun technique - using basic shaving foam with inks or paint to create amazing marbled patterns! This session covers the technique and ways of using the marbled card or paper that is produced.
Spirelli, 1 hour, £15
This session will cover the string art technique of spirelli. Create patterns with different types of thread to create greeting cards or small pieces of wall art.
